What do You Want to be When You Grow up?

Hearing Jan talk about regretting her course made me think about mine.

hmmm...the truth is...
i don't even want to get an engineering degree.
there! i said it. I've no what-so-ever desire to get an uni degree.
i don't really want to be a pilot.
i just want to be it cos of the perks
and of course, a female pilot is super cool. tsk

uni applications done about a month ago.
i decided on:
1. environmental engin
2. electrical engin
3. mechanical engin
for melb uni.

TOTALLY nothing i want at all.
environmental engin was my dad's idea. he said there was a lot of potential in it. those people do stuff like inventing stuff that will conserve the environment. for example, making those save-energy light bulbs which i don't even know what it's called. ok. broken English all the way.
ANYWAY, i decided to put that down cos will earn a lot of $$$
and me dad says that with that degree, i can do pilot-ing anyway.
but, the thing is, I'll hate it.
chemistry. geography. {faints}
living nightmare.
mechanical and electrical, i don't even want to talk about it.
4 incredibly short years
oleh!

rmit:
1. mechanical engin
2. aerospace engin
3. forget already

that's why i told God; it's ok even if i cant make it to melb uni. rmit is also fine.
at least, it'll be closerto what i want to be. or rather, think i want to be. and I'll probably enjoy it so much more.
cos everybody that's in the melb uni engin courses absolutely DETEST them.
it's not that i may influenced by them or anything.
it's just that at least the other unis offer more interesting/enjoyable courses?
well, God does the thinking and the worrying for me.
me? i just study.

another secret (heh heh):
i don't study for myself
(you guys probably figure that out by now). but,
i study for my parents.
that's why when my dad tells me to put whatever course, i just go: whatever lah. and just put.
i mean, it's understandable why they want me to do that. cos, it's after all,
society's basic requirement.
and i understand why they want me to do it luh. that's why I'm all the way in aust doing something
a friend said that i should be studying for God.
but the thing is, i don't!

i just feel that there's more important things to do then studying luh.

and anyway, i find that everybody is doing this so that they can do that.
get it?
melb model again.
I'm glad engin is not affected. yet.
thank god!
basically, for those who don't know,
for example, if you want to do law,
you have to do a basic degree: arts first
then do an extra time and get law post grad degree

so, everybody who doesn't want to do the extra time or cant get into the course that want(like medicine), does something else.
for example: law become media and comm
worse still: medicine become engin.
I'm like: DON'T STEAL MY PLACE!
fools.
they're going to regret it.

like me.

everybody doesn't know what they really want to be anyway. like NOBODY.
they're just doing it for the sake of getting a degree, pleasing parents, fulfilling the requirement, blahblahblah
anyway, how many people actually end up making use of their degrees when they're working?
